July 7th 2012

This assignment of completing seven, 300+ word, blogs a week is a challenge I am struggling to meet. Let me do a little math - 300+ words, times 7 blogs, equals 2,100+ words a week -- on top of the other weekly writing assignments I must complete.

The benefits are undoubtedly vast. The struggle is in the fact that I’ve never challenged my mind to work through so many words and thoughts on paper. In my physical communication I am rather quiet. Often, my thoughts and opinions are ones I feel little need to share. Showing my personality through actions how I approach life. Spoken words can do so little and, contrastingly, so much. It could be said, about me, that I trust my actions more then my words.

Under this assignment, I feel constrained by having to illustrate solely through words.

Under this constraint I must find the confidence that will lend me to new freedom in the use of written word.

A belief I hold is that nothing is impossible with God. My dear Lord has recently been hearing a lot from me about the weakness I feel in my written communication skills.

Several times this past week, I’ve found the Bible scriptures that speak of how fools despise knowledge. I strongly wish not to be a fool, so I will persist at improving this skill, and I will succeed.

A song that we sing in our preschool Sunday school class is called “Be a plumber for the Lord.”
One of the verses goes as follows:
If the lords makes you a plumber be a plumber for the lord
If the lord makes you a drummer be a drummer for the lord

For the Lord has need of plumbers, He has need of drummers too.  Yes everyone created has a special job to do.

Yes, this song is silly and written for the positive entertainment of young minds.
But the lyrics could be rewritten in a context I find challenging and not so silly.

If the Lord makes you a writer, be a writer for the Lord.
If the Lord makes you student, be a student for the Lord.

For the Lord has need of writers, He has need of students too. Yes everyone created has special job to do.
